New York City’s┬áDepartment of Records officially made public nearly a million images of New York and its municipal operations going back to the mid-1800s. From the painting of the Brooklyn Bridge to gritty crime scenes, it’s a beautiful collection of photography from that time. Daily Mail ran a selection of the images that you can see HERE.
